ERP implementation:
ERP implementation methods:
Enterprise resource management software can be implemented in three ways:
- Cloud implementaion
- Setup on the company’s local servers
- The hybrid implementaion
The Owrang ERP platform can be implemented in all three ways. In the following, we will have an overview of these methods and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
Cloud implementaion
In this method, the employees of the company are connected to the Owrang website or app through which they perform operations related to the management of the organization. The company’s data is entered and stored in Owrang’s specialized cloud space and can be accessed from anywhere in the world through the Internet. In this method, even a single person can start working immediately by using a username and password. The company can also introduce users or add modules as needed and pay the monthly subscription exactly on the same basis.
Advantages:
- The fastest way to get started:
- Get started right away, just by getting a username and password.
- Processes are standardized, which minimizes the need for changes in the system.
- Economical and cost-effective for small and medium-sized companies:
- Flexible payment, in the form of a monthly subscription, depending on the modules and the number of users required by the company
- No hardware, setup and maintenance costs
- Simple and accessible:
- Business management anytime and anywhere, web or mobile
- Smart mobile application (mobile organizational or individual management)
- No worries about ensuring data security
Disadvantages:
- Not cost-effective for large companies with a high number of employees
- Restrictions on changes and creation of defined processes specific to the company compared to the private method
- Non-face-to-face support (online and telephone), unless requested by the customer
Setup on the company’s local servers:
In this method, the entire system along with the required datais installed on the applicant’s/customer’s servers. All the processes, forms, formulas and reports used in the company are defined in the same way in the system so as to cause the least amount of changes for the users. All required trainings are provided by the support team to the people introduced by the client company. Depending on the requirements of the company, the system can be defined online (Private server) or offline (On-premise), that is, people from outside the company and its branches can access the system or not.
Advantages:
- Economical for companies with a high number of users
- Complete and accurate customization with all the internal processes required by the company, with the greatest degree of adaptation and consideration of all possible details
- Launching, training and definition of all processes required by the company are completely done by the launch and support team.
- Three months of free support after launch, followed by dedicated and long-term support via face-to-face or face-to-face
- The possibility of setting up a private and dedicated network, without the possibility of external sources accessing the company’s data, but the company’s employees and users can access the system from anywhere in the world.
- The possibility of use even without internet, suitable for branches in remote areas without internet access.
Disadvantages:
- High initial cost of installation, setup and customization
- Requires hardware and training costs
- Longer time from the order to be ready to work
- Ensuring data security is the responsibility of the applicant/client company.
The Hybrid Implementation
In this method, both the cloud method and the private method are used simultaneously. In this way, the data is stored both in the company’s private servers and in the Orang cloud space, and these two spaces are synchronized. This is usually done in two ways. In the first method, all company data is stored in both databases. In the second method, private and sensitive data are stored in the company’s private servers, and public and non-sensitive data are stored in the public servers of the Orang cloud space, and these two communicate with each other and exchange information. In the following, we will examine and compare these two methods.
Hybrid setup, first method: Keeping the whole data both on the company’s server and in the cloud:
Advantages:
- Having backup copies that prevent disconnection of forces and customers with the company during emergencies and force majeure and provides the maximum amount of physical and cyber data security.
- Having all the other benefits of the setup method on the company’s private servers
- Simple access anytime and anywhere, like the cloud method
Disadvantages:
- Very high cost (highest cost among all methods)
- Longer setup time: The complexities of installation and setup increase the cost and time of even more than just setting up on the company’s private servers.
Hybrid setup, the second method: keeping private and sensitive data in the company’s private server and non-sensitive data in the cloud:
Advantages:
- The company’s private and sensitive data are not removed from the company’s servers.
- Due to not needing to maintain the entire data of the company, the cost of the hardware required to install, set up and maintain them is reduced.
- Having all the other benefits of the setup method on the company’s private servers
- Simple access anytime and anywhere, like the cloud method
Disadvantages:
- The greatest complexity of installing, setting up and connecting two systems, as a result of which the time and cost of the setting up process increases compared to setting up on private servers.
- Two points of failure: If there is a problem for any of the two companies or the communication link between the two, the connection may be broken and the system may not work.
Caution!
Because of the aforementioned problem, starting with the second hybrid method is generally not recommended. The Cloud method is recommended for small and medium sized companies, with private server method for large companies, and hybrid type 1 method for very large companies. This method is recommended only if the company is small but there are very sensitive data that must be stored privately on the company’s servers.
